[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention relates to a decorative yarn for knitting fabrics using scale-like aluminum paste.

Traditionally, so-called gold and silver threads have been made by vapor-depositing metals such as gold, silver, aluminum, etc. onto polyester resin or other films, or pasting them in the form of foil, and further protecting the surface of these metal films as necessary. It is generally known that the material is coated or laminated with a transparent protective layer.

However, precious metals such as gold and silver have excellent physical and chemical properties as well as a noble luster, and are ideal as raw materials for decorative threads, but their prices have risen significantly in recent years, making them even more expensive. Therefore, the current situation is such that there is a great demand for a substitute product that is inexpensive and of excellent quality.

On the other hand, as mentioned above, aluminum, which is inexpensive and has relatively good quality, is already widely used together with or in place of pure silver, but in the case of decorative threads that involve aluminum vapor deposition, alkali treatment and scouring dyeing are generally used. It is difficult to withstand harsh conditions in other post-processing processes, and although decorative threads made with aluminum foil have relatively high alkali resistance and scouring resistance, the thickness of the aluminum foil layer is inevitably large. Therefore, it had disadvantages such as lack of flexibility as a decorative thread.

The decorative yarn for knitting fabrics according to the present invention solves the above-mentioned difficulties, and is made by cutting a raw material film containing a polyester resin film coated with flaky aluminum paste on one or both sides.

A scaly aluminum paste is made by processing scaly aluminum particles into a paste form. Specifically, for example, the product name Alpaste Milaglow (Super Gloss) (manufactured by Toyo Aluminum Co., Ltd.) can be used. Can be done.

This scaly aluminum paste may be mixed with an appropriate synthetic resin, solvent, etc. as needed, adjusted to the desired concentration, applied to one or both sides of a polyester resin film, and dried. By adding and mixing fluorescent pigments, phosphorescent pigments, etc. in advance, the luster can be brought closer to pure silver luster.

The above coated and dried film can be used as is, or a transparent or translucent protective film layer can be coated or laminated on the coated surface, or a colored layer can be coated on the coated surface or the polyester resin film surface, and the film can be cut into threads as needed. It is heated to make decorative yarn for knitting fabrics.

To explain the drawings, FIGS. 1 and 2 are enlarged cross-sectional views of an embodiment of a decorative yarn for knitting fabrics according to the present invention, and in the former, a scale-like aluminum post coating layer is coated on one side of a polyester resin film 1. 2 are laminated, and in the latter case, a transparent protective film 3 is further adhered to the scale-like aluminum paste coating layer 2 in the former case.

As mentioned above, the decorative yarn for knitting fabrics according to the present invention is extremely inexpensive compared to decorative yarns using silver, is less prone to discoloration due to sulfurization, oxidation, etc., and is more durable than decorative yarns made using aluminum vapor deposition. It has excellent alkali resistance and scouring resistance, and it is also highly flexible because the coating layer of the scaly aluminum paste, which is the light volatile layer, can be made extremely thin compared to the decorative thread used to attach aluminum foil. It has various effects such as a unique noble luster due to the scale-like aluminum.
