In recent years, financial institutions such as banks have been installing and using automatic deposit machines, automatic teller machines, etc. in order to save labor at counter operations. These automatic teller machines and automatic teller machines have a bill receiving section that accepts bills that customers insert to make deposits, and a bill receiving section that determines the authenticity of the accepted bills and counts the amount. It also includes a mechanism section that feeds banknotes to a processing section after the processing section. By the way, when a customer inserts banknotes into the banknote receiving section of the above-mentioned automatic teller machine or automatic teller machine, there is often a metal foreign object such as a paper bag or hard cargo sandwiched between the two banknotes. If it is carried into the aircraft, it may cause various malfunctions. Therefore, some means have been provided and implemented in the past to eliminate the harmful effects when foreign objects occur between the temples.

This method converts this fluctuation into an electrical signal to detect foreign objects. However, this method has limitations in being able to follow the high-speed feeding of paper sheets, is difficult to adjust between the roller and the cam or between the cam and the switch, is prone to jamming of foreign objects and the cam, and is even more costly. It also has the disadvantage of being expensive.

Another method is to form a drainboard-like gap in the lower part of the sheet receiving section, and allow heavy foreign objects other than two sheets to fall through the hole and be taken into the foreign object cassette. However, this method has the problem that it is not possible to detect foreign objects in magnetic cards or magnetic passbooks, and furthermore, since the foreign objects are taken into the cassette, special handling by the staff is required.

FIG. 1 is a sectional view of a banknote accepting device in which the present invention is implemented. In the figure, a banknote receiving section 1 includes a receiving plate 2, which partially constitutes a side wall. Upper edge plate forming part of the other side wall 3. bottom 4
and a banknote holding plate 5. A shutter 6 is provided above the bill receiving section 1 to open and close the receiving port 1a. Further, a stopper 7 is provided approximately at the center of the banknote receiving section 1 so as to be freely controllable. The stopper 7 is controlled to be inserted or removed by turning on/off a stopper solenoid 8. That is, when the stopper solenoid 8 is turned off, the stopper is projected into the middle space of the bill receiving section 1, and when the soot collar solenoid 8 is turned on, the stopper is removed from the middle space of the bill receiving section 1. A foreign object detection coil 9 is provided near the receiving port 1a of the banknote receiving section 1, surrounding the receiving port 1a.
This foreign object detection coil 9 constitutes a part of the oscillation circuit included in the detection circuit 10. If a banknote containing a foreign object is inserted into the receiving slot 1a, the inductance of the foreign object detection coil 9 changes and the lightning detection circuit 10 The oscillation frequency of the oscillation circuit changes. Then, foreign matter contamination is detected by detecting a change in the 4/9 oscillation frequency at detection r5U%, 10. The detection circuit 10 will be described in more detail later. A driving taking-in roller 11 and a driven taking-in roller 12 are provided between the receiving opening 1a of the banknote receiving part 1 and the intermediate space of the banknote receiving part 1 where the stopper 7 is protruded.
A pair of take-in rollers are arranged. The drive intake roller 11 is configured to be rotatable in both forward and reverse directions. Further, the driven row 212 has a dogleg shape and is supported by one end of the lever 15 which is pivoted at a bent portion. Lever 13
The other end of the banknote is sucked by the take-in solenoid 14, and when the take-in solenoid 14 is turned off, the driven take-in roller 12 moves toward the drive take-in roller 11 due to the return force of the return spring 15, and two banknotes 16 are inserted. Hold this between your hands.

Next, the circuit configuration of the detection circuit 10 shown in FIG. 1 is shown in FIG. As shown in the figure, the detection circuit 10 includes an oscillation circuit 30. Amplifier 31. Waveform shaping circuit 32. Counter 33. Comparison circuit 3
It is composed of 4. The oscillation circuit '50 includes inductances L1, L2 . This is a well-known...-Tray oscillation circuit including a resonant circuit of a capacitor C, and an inductance L1.
-L2 corresponds to the inductance of the foreign object detection coil 9 shown in FIG. In other words, the foreign object detection coil in FIG. Let Lb be the composite inductance when a magnetic substance or metal foreign matter is mixed in, and Lc be the composite inductance when a foreign substance such as a magnetic substance or metal is mixed in. Then, La<Lb
<Lc, and conversely, the resonant frequency of the oscillation circuit corresponding to this composite inductance has the relationship f a > f b > fc. Therefore, for example, regarding the foreign object detection coil 9, nothing passes during the TI period) → only bills pass (T2
Assuming the following operation pattern, the output waveform a of the two-oscillator circuit 30 (amplifier, width converter 31) is assumed to be the following: The output b) is as shown in FIG. 3A, and the waveform further shaped by the waveform shaping circuit 32 is as shown in FIG. 3C. This pulse signal shown in FIG. 3C is added to the counter 33 and counted.

When the count value is converted to a voltage level and output, the third
The waveform is shown in Figure d. In this case, the frequency fa is the highest when no bill passes through the side, so the voltage level is at a high level, but the frequency fc when the foreign bill passes
is the lowest among the champions, so its voltage level is also the lowest. The frequency signal converted to the voltage level of the counter 33 is applied to the comparator circuit 34, and when it is greater than the reference voltage EVo, a high level output voltage is derived. Reference voltage vO
is set to be between the voltage level corresponding to the frequency fb and the voltage level corresponding to the frequency fc, so the comparator circuit 3
The output of No. 4 is at a low level only during period T4, as shown in FIG. 3e. In other words, by deriving this low level output,
Contamination with foreign matter can be detected.

When inserting banknotes, the customer inserts his or her own magnetic card into a card slot (not shown) and specifies a deposit transaction. In step 40, a transaction enable signal is generated, and in step 41, the transaction is confirmed. The intake solenoid 14 is turned on, and the piece 13b of the lever 13 is sucked downward so that the driven intake roller 12

When the shutter 6 is opened, the customer 1d puts the banknote bundle 14 into the receiving opening 1a of the banknote receiving section 1 in step 42. The banknote bundle 14 is inserted up to the stopper 7 and stopped, so that about half of the banknotes 16 protrude beyond the customer service surface, as shown in FIG. When the banknote is inserted up to the stopper 7, the banknote 14 is inserted into the foreign object detection coil 9, so that foreign object detection is performed in step 43.

If a foreign object is mixed in between the banknotes, the determination in step 43 is YES, and the process moves to step 48, where a display indicating that a foreign object has been mixed in is performed. Upon seeing this display, the customer pulls out the banknote bundle in step 49, removes foreign objects, and reinserts one banknote bundle into the receiving opening 1a. In this case, since the banknotes are stopped by a stopper protruding from the middle of the banknote receiving section 1, foreign matter can be removed simply and easily when the banknotes are taken out. If the foreign matter is removed, or if no foreign matter is originally mixed in, the determination in step 43 becomes YES, and the process moves to the second step 44, where the insertion detection sensor 27 determines whether or not a bill has been inserted.

It detects foreign objects that get mixed in between paper sheets by detecting frequency changes caused by changes in inductance.Since foreign objects are detected electronically, they can be detected more accurately than by visual inspection, and they can be detected mechanically. Since it can be checked quickly compared to the previous model, it can also follow high-speed operations. Furthermore, since a foreign object detection coil is installed at the receiving opening of the paper sheet receiving section, if a foreign object is detected, the paper can be returned immediately, eliminating the need for special handling by staff regarding foreign object disposal.
