Abstract

PURPOSE:To start cleaning operation automatically by installing switches which detect a downward motion produced by a tire of a specific tire treading mem ber. CONSTITUTION:Roller brushes 22 and 23 for cleaning means 3 and 4 which also serve as a tire detection treading member are installed in parallel to paired rollers 5, 6, 7 and 8 for a front supporting roller unit 1 and a rear supporting roller unit 2, and are supported between a pair of arms 25 and 26, swinging freely up and down. Motors 29 and 30 designed to interlock with the brushes 22 and 23 are respectively installed at one end of each arm 22 and 23, while a balance weight 31 is installed at the other free end of each arm. The balance weight 31 exerts its gravity on the brushes 22 and 23 in an upward direction. Tire detection limit switches 53 and 54, which are operated by a downward swing motion of the arm 26 are installed. With the operation of said switches, a drive means 20 for the roller 5 and the motor 29 etc are driven. The switches 53 and 54 are further provided with a timer (not illustrated) which operates the motor 29 only when the setting time continues. This construction prevents wrong operation.

Next, to explain the tire cleaning method and operation, the vehicle 60 is advanced into both tire guides 59 in the direction of the arrow 61 while pushing the curtain brushes 58 apart, and the front and rear tires 62 are moved into the rollers 5 and 5 of the front support roller device 1. 6 and the rear rear tire 62s is the rear support roller device 2.
The vehicle 60 is stopped while the vehicle is stuck between the rollers 7 and 8, and then the gear of the vehicle is switched to neutral and all brakes are released to free the rear axle. At this time, the roller brushes 2 of both the front and rear cleaning means 6, 4
2.23 is stepped on by the tires 62, 6S, and descends with the swinging of the arm 25.26 against the biasing force of the balance weight S1. Limit switch 52 prevents this descent.
The roller brush 22 is detected by the roller brush 22 continuously during the set time of the delay circuit 55 which is detected by the S, 54 and activated by the detection operation.

As a result, the front rear tires 62 are driven by the rollers 5 in the rotational direction when traveling backward, and the rear rear tires 65 are interlocked with the front rear tires 62 through the transmission mechanism of the vehicle itself and are driven on the rollers 7.8 in the same direction. Rotate. At the same time, the high-pressure water injected from the spray pipe 32.54 and the plastic nosing action of the roller brush 22.23 cause not only the ground contact surface, but also the gap between the tires of the double tire, the outer surface of the tire, and the inner side of the rim. Washed. When the cleaning time set in advance by the timer 56 has elapsed, the drive of the roller 5 and roller brushes 22, 223 and the supply of high-pressure water are stopped, and the buzzer 57, which was activated at the same time as the roller brushes 22 and 26 are depressed, is stopped. After the cleaning is finished, the vehicle 60 is moved forward in the normal manner. Since the rollers 5 to 8 cannot be reversed due to the reverse rotation prevention means 11, the rear tires 62 rotate in the forward direction. 63, it is possible to climb over the rollers 5 to 7 and exit out of the cleaning device.

The water sprayed by the cleaning means 6, 4 uses the water stored in the water tank 40, and the water after spraying returns to the water tank 40 together with the mud, so that the amount of water that has adhered to the vehicle body or scattered around the vehicle body is compensated for. Water may be supplied into the water tank 40. Further, it is desirable that the water tank 40 is provided with an overflow drain port so that water does not accumulate above a certain water level.

The tire washing machine according to the present invention can be implemented as described above, and in a tire washing machine that washes an automobile tire while rotating it with the support roller device supporting the tire, the support roller device has the support roller device. - A tire pushing member (roller brush 22.2+5 in the embodiment) extending parallel to the tire support roller is vertically movably supported, and a biasing means (balance weight in the embodiment) that urges the tire pushing member upward. 2s1) and a switch for detecting a downward movement when the tire depression member is depressed by the tire supported by the support roller device against the biasing force of the biasing means, Since the cleaning action is started when the detection state exceeds the set time of 11 m, the following effects can be expected.

In other words, compared to the case where the tire is detected using a phototube switch placed across the vehicle path or a limit switch with an actuator that contacts the side surface of the tire, guard plates, guard bars, etc. are installed on the sideways part of the tire. Even if the vehicle is in a state where the tire is supported by the acid at a predetermined position on the support roller device, it can be reliably and accurately detected. Furthermore, when using the phototube switch, there is a risk that mud scattered during cleaning may adhere to the phototube starting part or light receiving part, resulting in poor detection operation. However, according to the present invention, as described above, Since it is only necessary to detect the downward movement of the tire depression member which is depressed by the tire using a switch, there is no possibility that the detection malfunction due to the above-mentioned phenomenon will occur. Moreover, since the tire tread member number extends parallel to the roller of the support roller device,
Similar to the case where a phototube switch is used, tire detection can be performed reliably even if there is variation in the left-right lateral direction of the vehicle's entry position.

In addition, if a phototube switch is used as described above, a detection operation will also be performed when a person passes over the tire washer, and if a switch with an actuator is used as described above, a detection operation will also be performed when a person passes over the tire washer. Whereas an erroneous detection operation is performed if the traffic position is just near the lateral edge, according to the configuration of the present invention, a person passing over this tire washing machine does not step down on the tire stepping member. Even if you depress the pedal by mistake, the cleaning action will not start unless you depress it for a set amount of time. For example, if a tire washer is installed across the width of the aisle , safety can be sufficiently ensured even when people frequently pass over the tire washer. It is also possible to safely move a vehicle over the tire washer.

As described above, according to the configuration of the present invention, when a tire is placed on the support roller device for cleaning, the tire can be reliably detected and the cleaning action can be automatically started. It has now been possible to ensure sufficient safety for people and vehicles to pass over this tire washer.
