Abstract

PURPOSE:To form partial coating on a work and to express a figure, by forming the figure with a water-soluble masking agent, covering the whole with a water- insoluble coating film, and after drying and solidifying, peeling off the coating film on the mask. CONSTITUTION:Masking 2 of a figure is applied on the surface of material 1 by using a masking agent. The whole face of the masked material 1 is coated with water-insoluble paint, and a coating film 3 is drid and solidified. The material 1 is immersed in water and rubbed with a material that does not damage the coating face. Then, the coating film on the mask 2 and mask 2 are peeled off. By this way, a desired figure can be expressed on the work without using any harmful substance.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for partially painting a paintable material, such as glass, metal plated products, ceramics, porcelain or glass, using masking.

Conventionally, in order to express figures on a painted surface, there are methods such as screen printing, offset printing, and transfer printing on the painted surface, but these methods give a relatively large sense of illumination on the surface, which is undesirable. There is another method that uses a combination of electrodeposition coating and alumite, but this method involves so many electrical elements that it is difficult to achieve the desired results easily and reliably. However, according to the present invention, it is possible to easily express a painted surface pattern (a pattern that does not substantially bulge on the surface) using conventional equipment and painting.

In particular, when a figure is expressed on a glass or metal surface according to the present invention, a novel beauty can be obtained by contrasting the metal or glass with the painted surface, thereby making it possible to create a variety of designs.

FIG. 1 is a sectional view showing the state of the coating process according to the present invention. Reference numeral 1 indicates the material to be processed. Material 1 is glass, metal plated product,
Any paintable material may be used, such as ceramics, porcelain, or plastic. After removing oil and fat from the surface of the material 1, a water-soluble pigment type masking agent is used on the surface of the material 1 to mask desired shapes such as dots, lines, letters, pictures, etc., such as by silk printing. Apply 2. The masking agent used here is a water-soluble material, and after drying, the paint or vapor deposition material applied afterwards, such as painting or vacuum deposition, penetrates, and the paint or vapor deposition material applied on the masking material retains its original properties. It is better to have no. The mask 2 may be applied on the material 1 by applying a base clear coat (see Fig. 3). Next, the entire surface of the masked material 1 is painted with a water-insoluble colored paint. The water-insoluble coating formed by this coating is indicated by reference numeral 3. After painting, the coating film 3 is dried and solidified. In the case of a bake-dry type paint, heat is applied to dry and bake it. After the coating film 3 is sufficiently dried and solidified, the material 1 is washed with tap water, for example. At this time, the paint film on the mask 2 and the mask 2 are peeled off by rubbing the painted surface with a soft material that does not damage the painted surface while applying water or immersing it in water. This is thought to be due to water entering the pinholes in the paint film, reaching the mask 2, and dissolving the mask. On the other hand, the coating film on the unmasked portions will not peel off. This state is shown in FIG.

A mask 2 is applied on the base coating film 4. The subsequent steps are similar to those of the first good example. The results are shown in FIG. The base coating film 4 is exposed where the mask previously existed,
Since the colored coating film 3 still remains in other areas, a desired figure can be expressed on the surface of the workpiece. If colored paint is used for the base coating, it is possible to represent a figure made up of two colors.

To produce a color effect, as shown in Figure 5,
The metal film 5 may be deposited on the material 1 by vacuum evaporation, sputtering, ion blasting, or the like. After that, a water-insoluble light-colored or colorless coating is applied, and after drying and baking, the mask 2 is washed with water and peeled off.
