Abstract

PURPOSE:To faciliate fixing of a resilient member thus to improve the assembling workability and to uniform the quality by uniforming the spring constant of the resilient member. CONSTITUTION:An insulator 8 is comprised of a bracket 7 and a resilient member 6 where a notch section 10 and a convex section 11 are made in the resilient member 6. Said notch section 10 will facilitate fitting of the resilient member to the rack casing. When projecting the convex section 11 from the fixing face 7b of bracket 7, the resilient member 6 will be compressed to fasten the rack casing resulting in elimination of characteristic values.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to an insulator, particularly an insulator suitable for use in a two rack and pinion type steering device.
As shown in the figure, there is a pinion at the tip of the column shaft.
2, the pinion wheel is engaged with the rack J, and the rack JYif is moved from side to side to change the direction of the wheel. is attached to the vehicle body 9 by means of an insulator ♂ consisting of an elastic body 11+ such as rubber fitted on the outer periphery of the insulator ♂ and a roughly box-shaped ricket 7 attached to the outer periphery of the elastic body B. Note that 7FL and 7b are mounting surfaces provided at both ends of the bracket 7 to the vehicle body, and by screwing these mounting surfaces 7a and 7bl to the vehicle body 9, the casing j can be attached to the vehicle body. It is ready to be installed.

The present invention has been made for the purpose of eliminating the above-mentioned drawbacks of the conventional art, and its gist is that, as shown in the drawings from FIG. 'A notch 10 for attaching to the outer periphery of a rod-shaped object to be attached from the curved surface thereof, and a convex portion that protrudes beyond the mounting surfaces 7a and 7b of the bracket 7 when attached to the object. This is because f was provided.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 8.4, the notch 10 is formed at one location substantially parallel to the mounting surfaces 7h and 7b of the bracket 7. The notch 10 has a predetermined gap δ when it is attached to an object to be attached such as the casing j. Further, the protrusion ii is formed at the lower part of the elastic body so that its tip protrudes by a thickness t that is approximately the same as the gap δ of the notch io.

The bracket 7 is fitted onto the outer periphery of the elastic body t fitted to the outer periphery of the object to be attached at a desired position from the curved side of the object to be attached. If it is tightened to the car body with ji7 screw/2 etc., the elastic body A has a convex part// and the mounting surface 7a, 7 of the bracket 7.
While being compressed until it becomes flush with A, its inner peripheral surface is crimped onto the outer periphery of the object to be attached, such as a casing.

Furthermore, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the notch 10f is provided at two locations, that is, the elastic body 6 is divided into two parts, upper and lower, to make it easier to attach the elastic body t to the object to be attached. The other configurations are the same as in the previous embodiment.

As explained above, the present invention consists of an annular elastic body attached to the outer periphery of a rod-shaped object to be attached, and a substantially Ω-shaped bracket attached to the outer periphery of the elastic body, and the bracket has both ends. In the insulator, which is attached to a vehicle body or the like using the mounting surface of the elastic body, the elastic body has a cut portion for attaching it to the outer periphery of the rod-shaped body to be attached from the curved surface side of the body. Since the insulator is characterized in that it has a convex portion that protrudes from the mounting surface of the bracket when it is attached to the object to be attached, the elastic body can be easily attached to the object to be attached. This has the effect of improving workability, and by keeping the protruding thickness of the convex part from the mounting surface constant, the spring constant of the elastic body is equalized, resulting in products with uniform quality (%). This has the effect of making it possible to provide
