Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the accident during steering operation by installing the right and left subheadlights having the wider outer angle range than the illumination range of the right and left head lamps, in the vicinity of said lamps, and permitting the lamps to be put On and OFF by a switch which is turned ON and OFF by the steering operation. CONSTITUTION:Microswitches 6 and 6' maintains ON state due to contact from the time point when right and left steering arms 11 and 11' perform displacement in a prescribed quantity, and are put into OFF state through departure of arms 11 and 11' during return displacement. Contact between the arms 11 and 11' and the contactors 13 and 13' of the switches 6 and 6' is generated at the time point when the arms 11 and 11' perform displacement to the position where cornering is permitted at the crossing point. Therefore, when a steering handle 12 is operated to turn a car rightward, the switch 6 is turned ON by the arm 11, and the right-side subheadlight 3 comes ON, and when the steering handle 12 is returned to the straight advancing state, the right-side arm 11 performs return displacement, and the light 3 is put OFF because of departure at that time.

When a car drives at night, the front is illuminated by left and right headlights. Generally, the left and right bed lights are fixedly installed on the vehicle body, so the light is always emitted at a certain irradiation angle (
This is done at an angle that ensures sufficient visibility for the driver. Therefore, in such cases, lighting is provided that does not interfere with the driver's visibility when driving straight, but when cornering, the steering is operated as shown in (b) in Figure 1. The direction and direction of movement of the vehicle body are determined by wheels α and α (
As shown in (a) and (c), they do not match and differ, so although the headlights, c and c provide forward illumination, there is a blind spot θ in the driver's field of view on the turning side with respect to the direction of movement of the vehicle body. arise. For this reason, accidents occur frequently when cornering.

The left and right sub-headlights 3, 3 are adapted to illuminate an outer corner area than the irradiation area of the left and right main headlights 1, 1. At this time, the angles and illuminance in the vertical and horizontal directions are appropriately set within a range that does not cause dazzling. As shown in FIG. 4, these power supply paths 4, 4
The left and right sub-headlights 3.3 are connected to the power supply line 5 to the power supply 5.1 through each micro switch 6.6. When the micro switch 6.6 is turned on, the left and right sub headlights 3.3 are turned on, and when turned off, they are turned off. . Note that current flows through the power supply path 5 when the light switch 7 is turned on. Note that 8 in the figure indicates the ground for batch IJ-19.

As shown in FIGS. 5 to 7, each of the microswitches 6.6 is turned ON-OFF when the left and right steering arms (knuckle arms) 11° and 11' for the left and right wheels 10.10 are operated by the steering handle 1. It is installed at a 7-column portion (not shown) near the steering arms 11, 11 so as to be able to do so. This microswitch 6.6 continues to be in the ON state due to contact from the time when the left and right steering arms 11°11 are displaced by a predetermined amount.1. and,
The steering arm 11.degree. 11 is turned off by separating the steering arm 11.degree. 11 when it returns to its original position, and a known microswitch is used here. Left and right steering arms 11,1
1 and the contacts 13, 13 of the microswitch 6.6 are brought into contact when the left and right steering arms 11, 11 are displaced to a position where cornering can be performed at the intersection point as shown in FIG. Therefore, if you now operate the steering wheel 12 to turn to the right as shown in Figure 1, the steering arm 11 will be displaced by this, and the micro switch 6 will be turned on, and as a result, the right subhead will be turned on. Light 3 lights up, steering handle 12
When the vehicle is operated to return to the straight running state ((a), (...) in FIG. 1), the right steering arm 11 is returned to its original position, and the right sub-headlight 3 is turned off due to the separation at that time. In this case, the left and right main headlights 1.1 are always turned on as in the conventional case. Therefore, when turning to the right, the illumination function of the right sub-headlight 3 expands forward driving and visibility, allowing safe driving. Note that even when turning to the left, the left steering arm 1 head light 30 is turned on to ensure safe driving in the same manner. In the figure, 14 is the steering wheel shaft, 15 is the steering gear housing, 16 is the cross rod assembly, 17.17
id side rod assembly, 18 is a steering idler assembly.

In summary, the automobile according to the present invention is provided with left and right sub-headlights near the left and right main headlights of the vehicle body that illuminate an outer corner area than the irradiation area of each of the main headlights, and these left and right sub-headlights. The light is automatically turned on by a switch that is turned 0N-OFF (on the steering arm of the steering arm for the left wheel or the right wheel, etc., which is displaced by the operation of the steering wheel), and the switch is turned on when the steering element changes by a predetermined amount. From this point on, it continues to be in the ON state by engaging with the steering element, and is turned OFF by engaging and disengaging when the steering element returns to its original position, so when cornering during night driving. , the sub-headlight on the side in the turning direction will be automatically turned on by the switch, and this illumination will eliminate blind spots in the driver's field of view during cornering, which cannot be achieved with the left and right main headlights, thereby promoting safe driving. It becomes possible to do this.

Note that the present invention is not limited to the illustrated structure; for example, the steering element may be replaced with a steering arm such as a side door, the switch may be replaced with a micro switch and another electric switch may be used, and the power supply of left and right sub headlights may be used. Various design changes can be made to the circuits and the like without departing from the technical idea set forth in the claims.
