Abstract

PURPOSE:A mixture preventing dripping phenomena, having improved flame retardance, heat resistance, and electrical properites, obtained by using a base polymer prepared by blending polyethylene or a copolymer consisting essentially of ethylene with a silicone-ethylene-propylene copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A blend obtained by blending 100pts.wt. polyethylene or copolymer consisting essentially of ethylene with 5-50pts.wt., preferably 10-15pts.wt. silicon-ethylene-propylene copolymer is used as a base polymer for a mixture of a crosslinked polyolefin mixed with a flame-retardant, flame-retardant auxiliary, antioxidant, and various kinds of fillers. The base polymer is blended with a system of a combination of a halogen-containing flame-retardant such as decabromobiphenyl ether, etc. and antimoxy troxide, and crosslinked.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a crosslinked polyolefin composition that is heat resistant and has excellent flame retardancy.
Since it has particularly excellent electrical properties, it is used as a N-receiving material for various electric wires, especially electric wires for wiring inside electronic devices.

However, from the viewpoint of fire prevention and disaster prevention, which has recently been advocated, flammability, which is the biggest drawback of polyolefins, has become a problem, and various flame retardant methods have been proposed to solve this problem.

Among these solutions, it has a heat resistance of 120 to 160 °C,
Moreover, as a crosslinked polyolefin composition with excellent flame retardancy without deteriorating electrical properties, antimony oxide is combined with a halogen-containing flame retardant such as decabromo biphenyl ether for polyethylene or a copolymer mainly composed of ethylene. Added systems are known. However, the reality is that these known techniques cannot prevent the dripping phenomenon (a phenomenon in which burning materials melt and fall during combustion) in the vertical combustion test required for electrical wires used in electronic equipment wiring. .

It is known to mix chlorinated polyethylene with a high degree of chlorination into -a as a method of preventing the dripping phenomenon of polyolefins, but this method deteriorates both the heat resistance properties and electrical properties of crosslinked polyolefins. 16
It cannot be used as a coating material for electric wires used in the temperature range of 0°C.

The inventor of the present invention has conducted various experiments in order to solve this problem and provide an electric wire that is electrically superior and satisfies the heat resistance and flame resistance required by the market, and as a result, has developed a wire that is mainly made of polyethylene or ethylene. Decabromo biphenyl ether and tetrabromo bisphenol A are added to the base polymer, which is obtained by adding 5 to 50 parts by weight, preferably 10 to 15 parts by weight, of a silicone ethylene propylene copolymer to 100 parts by weight of the copolymer.
, perchlorocyclopentadecane, paraffin monochloride,
It has been found that the above-mentioned drawbacks can be completely eliminated by adding a flame retardant in which antimony trioxide is combined with a halogen-containing flame retardant such as 22-di(4-bromoethoxy-3.5-dibromophenyl)propane, followed by crosslinking. Heading The invention has been completed.

Next, examples will be described. Each of the compositions shown in Table 1 was placed on a tinned annealed copper wire with an outer diameter of 1.0%.
.. The sample thus prepared was coated with a thickness of 5% and then cross-linked by heating under pressure.
Table 2 shows the results of the VW-1 vertical combustion test specified in . As the silicone ethylene propylene copolymer, 81nP1721 (trade name) manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd. was used.
