Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an eraser for a colorless dye/developer system ink, which can erase only handwriting on an eraser-coated surface, by adjusting the viscosity of a soln. to a specified value, said soln. being obtd. by dissolving a nonvolatile desensitizer having a melting point higher than a specified temp. in a solvent having a boiling point lower than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:An ink eraser is obtd. by adjusting the viscosity of a soln. to 10-200cP at 25 deg.C, said soln. being obtd. by dissolving a nonvolatile desensitizer having a m.p. of 60 deg.C or higher such as an N-vinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate copolymer or an ethyleneurea/formaldehyde resin, in a solvent having a b.p. of 160 deg.C or lower such as methanol, ethanol or toluene. Since the penetrating rate of this eraser soln. into paper is adequately slow, the solvent is evaporated before the eraser penetrates through the back of paper and the soln. is dried and solidified so that only handwriting on the eraser-coated surface can be erased without erasing handwriting on the back of the paper and on the next paper. Traces of erased handwriting are maintained as such and the erased handwriting does not reappear.
