Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve appearance, by providing a side door sash with a concealing part which extends rearwards and which covers a center pillar when the side door is closed and by placing the concealing part of almost the same plane as the outside surface of a rear quarter window pane. CONSTITUTION:In an automobile in which a center pillar 2 which divides the open part of a side door 4 from that of a rear quarter window 8 supports a rear quarter window pane 36, a side door sash 14 is provided with a pillar concealing part 18 which extends rearwards on the same plane as the outside surface of the side door 4 and can cover the center pillar. Door seal rubber 20 is bonded on the rear part of the sash 14 inside the pillar concealing part 18. The center pillar 2 comprises an outer part 22 and an inner part 24. The front and rear joints of the inner and the outer parts 24, 22 ar covered with a seaming welt 28 and seal rubber 32. The window pane 36 is supported with a hinge 34 on the outer part 22 of the pillar 2.
