In recent years, with the trend of using hot water in a variety of ways, we are increasing the capacity of water heaters, in order to ensure the environmental safety of residents against indoor air pollution, and to solve problems such as installation space in narrow kitchens. There is a tendency for water heaters to be installed on outdoor walls to become more popular.

On the other hand, for the purpose of downsizing or incorporating a burner for high-load combustion, combustion-type gas water heaters with forced ventilation using a blower have been put into practical use, and with this, various air supply and exhaust systems have been introduced. has been invented.

The air supply and exhaust system of this invention is a separate air supply and exhaust type, but because it has a configuration in which the air is exhausted along the wall surface from openings at both ends of a horizontally long exhaust pipe attached to the top of the lid of the combustion appliance, it has the following specific features. It was discovered that an inconvenient problem would occur if the device was installed in a location.

In other words, in recent compact architectural modules such as multi-story apartment buildings, there are various locations for installing outdoor combustion appliances due to floor plans such as kitchens, bathrooms, washrooms, etc., and sometimes it is unavoidable to install outdoor combustion appliances. It is often installed in places such as cul-de-sacs where ventilation is poor, for example, in a hook-shaped recess B of a building or an outer wall W having a wing wall, as shown in Figure 1. However, it was not possible to obtain satisfactory ventilation performance under all external conditions such as wind direction and wind speed.

In view of the above problems, the present invention is an air supply/exhaust system that aims to improve the problems of the device of the previous application. Under any conditions, the exhaust gas, which is an important factor in combustion, is not suppressed and is not recirculated to the air supply side, allowing smooth ventilation and stagnation near the equipment. An object of the present invention is to provide an air supply/exhaust device for a forced ventilation type combustion appliance that can also eliminate the problem of indoor air being contaminated due to the intrusion of exhaust gas into the room.

This water heater normally has a structure in which the casing 6 is fitted into the outer wall W and fixed by the flange 8C,

First, in the case of no wind or weak wind, when the water heater is operated, combustion air is forcibly sucked in by the blower 5 as shown by the solid arrow from the air supply hole 8b, and participates in combustion in the burner 4.

However, since there are no holes in the front, upper and lower surfaces of the exhaust pipe 9, and the opening in the recess B is sealed with the end plate 10, all exhaust air is directed toward the open space A as shown by the broken line arrow into the duct 11. Most of the air is discharged from the exhaust port 12a of the terminal 12, but it is also exhausted from the exhaust hole 13 of the terminal 12.

Next, under windy conditions, if the wind P1 blows from the front, as shown by the white frame arrow in Fig. 4, particularly against the terminal 12 protruding into the open space A, the wind P1 is They hit the V color of the board 15 and are distributed as if winding left and right along the slope, preventing direct entry into the exhaust port 12a, while preventing the air from entering the exhaust port 13 on the upper and lower surfaces of the terminal 12.
Then, as the wind blows obliquely upward along the cut and raised pieces 14, a part of the exhaust gas is sucked out as indicated by the chain arrow shown in FIG.

If the wind blowing at terminal 12 is strong, even if some of the exhaust flow goes around into recess B, the exhaust flow will be sufficiently diluted when being sucked out as described above, so the supply Even if it moves to the side of the pore 8b, there is no problem with combustion at all.

When the side wind P2 blows, the exhaust flow is suppressed by the wind pressure in one half of the exhaust hole 12a and the exhaust hole 13 on the side directly receiving the wind, but the exhaust hole 13 is cut and raised. 14, wind does not directly enter the exhaust passage.

In addition, the wind at the terminal 12 is downward wind P3. When upward wind P4 blows,
Since the upper and lower sides of the gap S are closed by the support plates 16, the wind does not directly enter the exhaust port 12a and suppress the exhaust flow, and the exhaust air is discharged while being divided left and right along the wind shield plate 15. However, even if the exhaust from the exhaust hole 13 on the side directly receiving the wind is suppressed by the wind pressure as in the case of the side wind P2 described above, it will flow out from the exhaust on the opposite side (L13).

As described above, the air supply and exhaust system of the present invention has a horizontally elongated exhaust pipe attached to the upper outer surface of the combustion appliance, and a duct and a terminal extending horizontally to the wind pressure zone on the side facing the open space among the openings at both ends. A protruding exhaust passage consisting of a There are multiple exhaust holes with cut and raised pieces that slope backwards, so it can be used in wind conditions in any direction, not to mention in no wind or weak winds. Correspondingly, the exhaust air is discharged from either the exhaust port or the exhaust hole due to the combined effect of the wind shield plate and the cut-and-raised exhaust hole, and the exhaust flow that tends to be discharged is diluted and dissipated in the direction away from the equipment, and the supply Since it does not come close to the pores, recirculation of exhaust gas does not occur, and ventilation can always occur without interfering with combustion.

In addition, even if the device is installed in a recessed area in the entrance as shown in the example, harmful exhaust gas will not stagnate near the device, which will eliminate the problem of indoor air contamination. It is extremely beneficial in terms of environmental health.
