Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for installation of guides among rolling mills and to reduce the labor for maintenance and inspection by incorporating plural sets of rolling mills in single frame constitution secured on a foundation in such a way that the rolls of the mills are on one line thereby placing the stands of the adjacent rolling mills closely. CONSTITUTION:Plural sets of horizontal rolling mills H1 and vertical rolling mills V1, V2 are assembled in single frame 1 closely together with housings 8, 8', 7 thereof. Therefore, the spaces between the rolls 6, 6' of the adjacent rolling mills H1, V1, V2 are reduced and the large compressive or tensile forces exerted upon the individual housings 8, 8', 7 by a material to be rolled are absorbed by the internal force in the respective stands or the stresses of the frame 1. As a result, there is no need for setting the strength of the housings 8, 8', 7 of the individual mills H1, V1, V2 and the rigidity around the leg parts and the need for installation of guides is eliminated.

Figure 1 shows an example of the arrangement of a conventional horizontal mill and a vertical mill.In these rolling mills, an extremely large rolling reaction force acts on each stand as an impact load. The cross-sectional area of is quite large. In addition, between each stand of vertical mill Vl, V2 horizontal bar H1,
It is necessary to increase the strength of each stand and the rigidity around the legs in order to withstand the extremely strong tension and compression forces generated by the rolled material. The distance between the rolling mills is large, and guides must be installed between the rolling mills, which requires a lot of maintenance and inspection work.

Reference numeral 818' denotes a steel plate housing (stand) for the vertical rolling mills Vl and V2. The vertical rolling mills Vl and V2 are installed so as to be movable in the vertical direction, and the stands of the vertical rolling mills Vl and V2 are replaced by pulling out the entire housings 8 and 8' to the working side. Reference numerals 9 and 9' denote liners installed on the frame 1 side between the outer surface of the housing 8 and 8' and the frame 1. Rolling mill V1.
V2's stands 8, 8' are restricted in movement, and these six rolling mills V1. H1 and V2 constitute a strong rolling group as a whole.

As described above, the present invention includes a plurality of sets of rolling mills, the horizontal rolling mill H1, the vertical rolling mills Vl, and V2, together with their housings (stands), being closely assembled in a single frame,
In addition to shortening the distance between rolls of adjacent rolling mills,
It is characterized in that it is constructed so that the enormous compressive or tensile force applied to each housing (stand) by the rolled material is absorbed by the internal force between each stand or the stress of the frame.

One embodiment of the rolling equipment of the present invention is configured as described above, and the stands 8, 8' and 7 of the two sets of vertical rolling mills Vr and V2 and the set of horizontal rolling mills H1 are arranged in a single unit. Since the rolls are closely integrated into the frame 1 of the rolling mill, the distance between the rolls of each rolling mill is significantly shortened, and unlike conventional equipment, maintenance and inspection between each rolling mill requires a lot of effort. There is no need to provide any necessary guide equipment. In addition, the enormous compression exerted by the material to be rolled on each stand of the rolling mill during rolling,
Since the tensile force is absorbed as an internal force between each stand or a stress on the frame, there is no need to increase the strength of the stand of each rolling mill or the rigidity around the legs.

Since the rolling equipment of the present invention has the above-described configuration and operation, the present invention solves the drawbacks of the conventional equipment and requires a large amount of maintenance and inspection between each rolling mill. There is no need to install time-consuming guide equipment, and there is no need to increase the strength of each stand or the rigidity around the legs, so it is practical and can reduce equipment costs compared to conventional methods. It can be said that it is effective.

Next, another embodiment of the present invention shown in FIG. 6 and FIG.
The adjoining parts of the stands of the horizontal rolling mill H1 and the adjoining parts of the stands of the vertical rolling mill v2 are all integrated into one body, and the stands of the three rolling mills form one block as a whole. The only difference is in how it is formed.
The other parts are constructed in the same manner as in the above embodiment.

In this example, when roll replacement is required, the entire block is pulled out to the work side, and the spacing between the rolls of each rolling mill is roughly shortened compared to the above example. Not only is this possible, but when replacing the rolls, all the stands can be pulled out to the work side at once, so there is an advantage that the rolls can be replaced efficiently in a short working time.

In addition, in the above-mentioned nominal flow side, rolling equipment is shown in which six rolling mills are assembled in a frame, but the number is not necessarily limited to six (, two, three or more, etc.). The combination of rolling mills may also be a combination of various appropriate rolling mills depending on the needs of the material to be rolled.
