Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure an air gap enough for generation of a water path in a drainer lip, by curving the drainer lip of a weather strip in such a manner that a large angle with the center line of a welt part is formed at an end side in almost an intermediate part of said drainer lip. CONSTITUTION:A drainer lip 5' is connected to a position left with a prescribed distance (b) from the point end of a leg part 1a of a welt part 1 and curved almost to a dog-legged shape in almost an intermediate part of the lip 5'. That is, with a curved point as the border, a root part 5' a forms a relatively less angle with a center line of the part 1 further a point end part 5'b forms a relatively larger angle with said center line. Then a protrusive distance (a) of the lip 5' from a bottom end of the part 1 is ensured to about the same level as in the past. Further the part 5'a is formed by solid rubber integrally formed with the part 1 and the part 5'b is formed by sponge rubber.

For example, a weather strip generally used in the past for trunk lids, etc. will be explained with reference to FIGS. The welt part is made of solid rubber, and a reinforcing core metal 2 is drilled inside the welt part, and the above-mentioned 7 legs IIs 1a and 1a are attached to the inner facing surfaces of the legs IIs 1a and 1a. Each pair of 72-inch retaining lips 8 is protruded so as to clamp them. Reference numeral 4 denotes a main seal lip made of sponge rubber that is integrally molded on the top of the above-mentioned quilt part 1, and is used to seal the inside and outside of the vehicle interior in close contact with the trunk lid, etc. outside the park. Further, 6 is in close contact with the vehicle body panel 11 on the outside of the 7 langes lla,
ζThis is a draining lip to prevent rainwater from entering from here, and this is a felt l5IC) extending diagonally downward from the tip end position P of one leg 1a, which is the outer side of the vehicle. In order to improve the sealing performance, the car body panel 1 is formed of sponge rubber.
1, the drain lip 5, the tip of the leg 11, and the vehicle body panel 11 form a trap so that an empty waterway is formed between the drain lip 5, the tip of the leg 11 and the vehicle body panel 11. 4 into the draining lip 6 from the step at the joint!
The structure is such that the incoming rainwater t1 is quickly guided to the lowest part of the opening edge of the vehicle body through the above-mentioned air Pil[6' and drained.

Here, in order to ensure sufficient pressure contact force against the vehicle body panel 11, the draining lip 5 needs to be as large as possible by the amount of protrusion from the lower end of the felt part l (see Figure 1); The length itself cannot be made unnecessarily long, as it is related to the stiffness of the lip and its appearance.

Therefore, conventionally, the draining lip 5 is formed such that the angle # between the draining lip 6 and the center edge of the welt portion 1 is relatively small. secured power. However, in a trunk room or the like where this type of weather strip is installed, in order to make the opening 1it larger, there is a demand for the radius of curvature of the corner part to be as small as possible. Conventional Yo'I

By bending along the corner IIK, the drain lip 6 is curled inward as shown by the imaginary line in Fig. The desired sealing effect cannot be obtained with the panel 11, and water leakage is likely to occur.

In addition, in order to prevent the above-mentioned water cutter 6 from curling up at the corner, by providing it at the tip of the leg 11 of the 1 water cutter 9-rip St wool part 1 as shown in FIG. The sea urchin strip is designed to obtain a relatively large angle # while ensuring a predetermined amount of protrusion ILt, and is mainly applied when the radius of curvature of the corner OR is quite small. However, with this configuration, it is difficult to secure a sufficient amount of air space 116 (see Figure 2) that serves as the waterway mentioned above, and due to the difference in level between the joints of one vehicle body panel 11,
There is a drawback that water that has entered the draining lip b tends to cross over the 7 lunges 11& and enter the trunk room.

This invention was made in view of the above-mentioned drawbacks of the conventional art, and its purpose is to ensure a sufficient pressure contact force of the draining lip against the vehicle body panel, and to prevent curling at the corners of the lip. The object of the present invention is to provide a weather strip capable of securing a sufficient amount of space to serve as a waterway in the drainer 1.

That is, the weather strip according to the present invention has a core metal inside and has a cross section of approximately U that fits into the flange of the opening edge of the vehicle body.
A welt part in the shape of a letter, a main seal lip formed incidentally on the welt part, and a drainage lip that extends diagonally from the -1 leg of the welt part and comes into pressure contact with the panel surface of the opening edge of the vehicle body. In weather stripping.

It is connected at a position leaving a predetermined distance by from the tip of a, and is bent in a substantially 〈 shape at approximately the middle portion thereof. With the i5 bending point as the boundary, the angle ms/a with the center line of the welt part 1 is relatively small, and the angle of the tip part 5''b is relatively large. In this embodiment, the solid rubber and the sponge rubber are divided at the bending point, but the present invention is not necessarily limited to this, and the draining lip 5' can be formed entirely of sponge rubber. It is also possible to divide the rubber into solid rubber and sponge rubber at a point other than the bending point.
