Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to minimize the temperature difference between the upper part and the lower part of a room and to switch automatically an air circulating operation to a ventilating operation by the titled ventilator by a method wherein the room is ventilated sufficiently by opening a shutter and air is circulated through the room by closing the shutter. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust air passage 8 and a supply air passage 9 are formed in the frame 1 of a ventilator and the shutter 14 for intercepting simultaneously the air flowing through an exhaust air port 11 and a supply air port 12 communicating with the outside of the room are provided so that when the shutter 14 is opened, an exhaust air stream and a supply air stream are generated by a fan 4 incorporated in the ventilator. Further, the ventilator is made to serve as a circulating device capable of producing a circulating air stream in the room when the shutter 14 is closed and such air circulating operation of the ventilator is made to be switched automatically to the ventilating operation thereof by means of a detecting means such as a time constant circuit or an air pollution detecting circuit and an automatic shutter opening and closing mechanism linked to the former.
