Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the change-over between printing on a continuous form paper and printing on a sheet form paper, by a method wherein a main platen and an auxiliary platen are fitted to a bracket movably fitted to a machine frame of a printer by maintaining a specified relationship between the two platens. CONSTITUTION:The main platen 3 and the auxiliary platen 4 are fixed to the bracket 1 so fitted that it can be rotated relatively to the machine frame with a pin 2 as a center, and a continuous form paper 7 is fed through a gap 5 formed between the two platens 3, 4 (numeral 6 denotes a printing head, numeral 9 denotes a tractor device and numeral 11 denotes a guide for the continuous form paper). In said printer, (i) printing on the continuous form paper 7 is conducted by setting the bracket 1 at the position shown in Fig. A, while (ii) printing on a slip form paper 8 (numeral 10 denotes guide rollers for the paper 8) is conducted by rotating the bracket 1 to the position shown in Fig. B and facing the auxiliary platen 4 to the printing head 6.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventional printing apparatuses have a structure in which continuous sheets and cut sheets are both processed between a print head and a single platen disposed opposite to the print head. Therefore, if there is a request for processing a cut sheet during continuous sheet processing, the cut sheet cannot be processed unless the continuous sheet is once removed from the platen.

That is, in the printing apparatus of the present invention, a bracket is pivotally attached to the machine frame of the printing apparatus, a main platen and an auxiliary platen are mounted on this bracket with a gap formed between them, and the bracket is rotated. This is characterized in that the main platen or the auxiliary platen can be selectively disposed opposite to the print head. To explain this regarding the illustrated embodiment, in the figure, 1 is a bracket pivotally attached to the machine frame of a printing device (not shown) by a pin 2, 3 is a main platen mounted on the bracket 1, and 4 is a bracket mounted on the bracket 1. 5 is a gap formed between the main platen 3 and the auxiliary platen 4, 6 is a print head, 7 is a continuous sheet, 8 is a cut sheet, and 9 is a continuous sheet for feeding 7. The tractor device 10 shows a friction roller device for feeding the cut sheet 8, and FIG.
FIG. 2 shows the continuous paper processing state of the first embodiment, FIG. 3 shows the continuous paper processing state of the second embodiment, and FIG. 4 shows the continuous paper processing state of the second embodiment. Each of the processing states of an example of a drop-in slip is shown.

As can be understood from the figure, the printing device of the present invention has a main platen 3 and an auxiliary platen 4, and the continuous paper 7 is formed between these platens 3 and 4. The main platen 3 is wound around the main platen 3 through the gap 5.
The printing process is carried out in a state where the printer is placed opposite to the print head 6. If a cut sheet 8 is requested to be inserted during processing of the continuous sheet 7, the bracket 1 is rotated around the pin 2, the main platen 3 is retracted, and the auxiliary platen 4 is connected to the print head 6. The printing process is performed on the cut sheet 8 between the print head 6 and the auxiliary platen 4, and after that process, the bracket 1 is rotated again to set the main platen 3 opposite to the print head 6, and the continuous sheet is printed. The printing process for paper 7 is restarted.

In this way, it is possible to avoid the trouble of removing the continuous paper 7 from the platen 3 and attaching it again when processing the slip paper 8, and also to prevent the printing position from shifting due to the attachment and detachment of the paper. I can do it. In addition, continuous book paper 1
The processing of the cut sheet 8 in the case where the printer is not installed can be carried out between the main platen 3 and the print head 6. Since the auxiliary platen 4 is only used temporarily when processing the cut sheet 8, it may have a simple structure.

In the first embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the main platen 3 is fixedly mounted on the bracket 1, and the paper is fed while sliding on the surface of the platen 3. The main platen 3 has a circular arc shape with a radius R, and is mounted so that the pivot point of the bracket 1 (the axis of the pin 2) and the center axis of the circular arc surface AB coincide. The auxiliary platen 4 has an arcuate surface i゛F with a radius R centered on the axis of the pin 2.
It is formed integrally with seat 1.・11 is a guide for continuous paper 7.

The linear plane CD of the main platen 3 has a distance between GH of 2 in Fig. 1.
It is formed to be equal to the distance between AHs in the figure. That is, in FIG. 1, GH=(1/2), where the position H is the end position of the guide 11.

By forming the platens 3 and 4 in this way, when the main platen 3 is retracted, it is possible to avoid sagging of the continuous paper 7 wound around the main platen 3, which is caused by sagging of the continuous paper 7. It is possible to prevent possible interference between the continuous paper 7 and the components of the printing device, and the line connecting the pin 2 and the printing position of the platen 3.4 is also aligned with the impact direction of the print head 6. print head 6.
It is possible to create a structure in which the impact force does not cause a rotational moment to act on the bracket 1.

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the main platen 3 rotates when feeding continuous sheets 7, and the main platen 3 is rotatably mounted on the bracket 1 by a shaft 12.
The axes of the shaft 12 and the pin 2 do not coincide. The auxiliary platen 4 is formed integrally with the bracket 1 and has a circular arc surface EF centered on the axis of the pin 2. In the above configuration, when the main platen 3 is retracted, the continuous paper 7 wound around the sag will sag, but if this sagging becomes a problem, for example, the roller 13 shown in FIGS. The roller 13 may be provided by being pivotally attached to the bracket 1, and the slack of the continuous paper 7 may be absorbed by the roller 13. Here, reference numeral 14 denotes a backtension date imparting member for the continuous paper 7.

As explained above, the printing apparatus of the present invention is provided with a main platen and an auxiliary platen, and performs printing processing on the dive sheet between the print head and the auxiliary platen while the continuous sheet is wound on the main platen. 8) There is no need to take the trouble of unhooking and unhanging continuous sheets when processing slip-in slips, reducing the operator's workload and speeding up office processing. Furthermore, it is possible to prevent printing misalignment caused by unhooking and unhooking continuous sheets.
