A tool of the type that cuts the wrapping paper of a coin roll lengthwise from one end to the other as exemplified by U.S. Pat. No. 3,781,987 (Gentsc
As exemplified by J.D. Heff), wrapping paper is cut in the circumferential direction near the throat of the roll so that the circumference of the side wall of the wrapping paper can be cut off, preferably at the edge. There is. The present invention provides a new and improved coin wrap cutting tool of the type that cuts the wrapper circumferentially near one end of a coin roll. It is an object of the present invention to provide a package roll of coins without the need to make any number of holes in the packaging paper and without the trouble of tearing the wrapping paper. The objective is to provide new and improved tools to facilitate Another object of the present invention is to provide a new and improved tool for cutting off the crumpled ends of in-rolls without scratching or damaging coins. Does not cause injury to the user J: Sea urchin cutting blade is usually used)J
It is an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved coin wrapping paper cutting tool as described above. It is a further object of the present invention to provide a new and improved cutting tool that is easily adjustable to accommodate rolls of coins of various sizes. The objects and features of the present invention will become clear from the following description in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
Referring to the drawings in detail, the invention disclosed herein includes a blade 14 in the combined base or main body 12 for cutting away the wrinkled end portion of the wrapper of the coin packaging roll R. It will be seen that this refers to a coin wrapping paper cutting tool 10 comprising a device in the form of a base or a sliding plate 16 for covering the blade 14 when not cutting. The main body 12 includes shoulders 18 spaced apart from each other, each supporting a cutting blade 14 and a shield 1G that normally covers the blade 14 to prevent it from being splintered. . Each shoulder 18 has a side 20 from which a cutting blade 1 extends.
4 stands out. The base or main body portion 12 has a platform portion 22 extending from the rear side 24 at 891.
I'm being treated. When the rolled end of the coin package roll R is to be cut, it is pressed against the contact surface 2G of the platform portion 22. This contact surface 26 is generally connected to the shoulder 18 and the cutting blade 14.
However, as clearly shown in Figure 4, the = 1 inch inside the package runs parallel to the rumpled edge of the wrapper of the coin package roll R without any obstruction. This contact surface 26 is closer to the base or main body portion 12 than the cutting blade 14 to facilitate cutting.
5, near the rear side 24, the platform portion 22 has a grooved or undercut passage 28 formed between the contact surface 2 (i) and each cylinder 18 to accommodate the coin bag. 7 - adapted to receive the end of the wrapping paper cut from the Girol R. Each shield 16 includes a cover surface 30 covering the cutting blade 14 - and a cover surface 30 which typically covers the cutting blade 14 . (extending toward the surface 30); A retaining device in the form of a pin 34 is attached to the shoulder 1 in order to maintain the cutting blade 14 in the cutting position.
It extends from 8 to shield 16. Each shield 16 is formed with a large hole 36 through which a retaining screw 3 is inserted.
8 extends to the base 12 to secure the shield 16 on the base 12, and a large hole 36 allows the shield 16 to move between a position in which the cutting blade 14 is covered and a position in which it is not covered. There is. A parallel device in the form of a coiled spring 40 is arranged to press against each retaining screw 3B;
Also, each of the shields 1G is located within the large hole 36 to offset the shield 1G to the normal cover position of the cutting blade 14''. Full”
The pair of cutting blades 14 and the shield 16 are disposed on the shoulder 18'', since the passage 2B and the adjacent shoulder 18 are disposed far from or on the opposite side of the contact surface 2G. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the shield 16 is constructed such that each fence portion 32 thereof widens from a generally closed rear end 42 toward a divergent entrance portion 44. The end of the roll R of the coin is placed at an angle to the contact surface 26;
Insert it while pressing the side part against the coin roll R to almost close it! ,: When the shield 16 moves toward the rear end and the spring 40 is pushed in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 4 and the shield 16 retreats, the cutting blade 14 comes out and performs a cutting operation. Moreover, as shown in FIG. 4, the cutting blade 14 is
The shoulder 18 is generally parallel to and from the contact surface 26 at a distance approximately equal to the thickness of the folded end portion of the wrapper of the package roll R.
Because it is supported above, the coin will not be jagged or scratched or otherwise damaged, and the blade 14 will not be damaged when the crumpled edge of the wrapper is cut. . Each shield 16 is provided with a plurality of guide members 46 in large holes 48 (on the cover surface 30), and each shoulder 18 is also provided with a plurality of large holes 50. The member 46 is inserted into the large hole 50 of the shoulder 18 and the retaining bottle 34 is inserted into the large hole 4 of the shield 16.
8 and the retaining screw 38 is passed through the large hole 36 so that the large hole 50, 48, 36 cooperates with the guide pin member as the shield 16 moves between positions covering and not covering the blade 14. 40. A retaining pin 34 and a retaining screw 9-screw 38 are accommodated, respectively. Each moon 14 has a plurality of notches 52 on its dorsal edge.

0, it mates with the hole 53 of the shoulder 18 and the large hole 36 of the shield 16. Each retaining screw 38 passes through the large hole, notch 52 and hole 53 to the blade 14 and the shield 1.
6 and are fastened to the base portion 12 by tightening T. An undercut 1 to a seat 56 are formed in the shoulder 18 that accommodates the blade 14. To ensure that the spring 40 and the retaining screw 38 are in constant contact, each retaining screw 38 is
There is a part of the collar on both sides of the thinner part of the handle.58. ! i8 is integrally formed, and a spring 40 is in anchoring contact with the tapered portion of this screw 38. To remove the contents of the coin roll R using the cutting tool according to the invention, simply place the end of the roll R that is wrinkled to close the roll wrapper at the entry point 44.
Place the roll R on the contact surface 26, and while keeping the end of the roll R on the contact surface 2G, move the side 10 of the roll R to a position where it touches the 7127 part 32.32, and then press the fence part 32. Press the spring 40, 40 in the direction shown by the arrow in FIG. After this, the roll R1 is pressed firmly against the blade 14, and the wrinkled end of the roll is pressed against the contact surface 26, and then rotated about the axis of the roll. ,
This allows you to cut a single blade without catching a coin, cutting it, or cutting it. It is possible to cut off the crumpled edges of rolls of packaging without damaging the material. It will be obvious to those skilled in the art that various changes can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention, and the present invention is limited to the details shown in the drawings and specification. It's not worth it.
