Abstract
PURPOSE:To separate vertical synchronizing signals surely, by discriminating the vertical blanking period, after detecting the presence or absence of signal component of color subcarrier frequency existing in the tail edge and video signals of horizontal synchronizing signals of a composite television signal. CONSTITUTION:When a composite television signal is inputted to an input terminal 1, the signal component of a color subcarrier frequency is picked up at a band-pass filter 2 and given to an envelope detector 3, and the envelope level signal of the signal component of the color subcarrier frequency can be obtained. This signal is compared with a reference level to be determined and becomes a binary information, which is inputted to a triggerable monostable multivibrator 6, the vertical blanking period is discriminated and vertical synchronizing signals are picked up at an output terminal 7. Since the position of the signal component of the color subcarrier frequency is unchanged independently of ghost, the vertical synchronizing signals can be separated surely.
