Abstract
PURPOSE:To separate vertical synchronizing signals surely, by detecting the time interval of synchronizing signal part after its picking up, discriminating the vertical blanking period where the vertical synchronizing signals and equalizing pulses exist and separating the vertical synchronizing signals. CONSTITUTION:The minimum value of a synchronizing signal of a composite television signal inputted to an input terminal 1 is always detected, a level greater by a minute amount epsilon from this minimum value toward the video signal side is taken as a threshold level, the comparison between the composite television signal and this threshold level is decided at a comparator 7, and the vertical synchronizing signals are separated and picked up by discriminating the horizontal synchronizing signal, equalizing pulse in the vertical blanking period, and the time interval of changing point of the result of decision produced at the vertical synchronizing signal. Thus, even if the variation of DC level due to ghost or the like is present in the composite television signal, the separation and picking up of the vertical synchronizing signals can be made surely.
