Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the device small in size and improve the Q value, by optimizing the ratio of the electrode period of a transducer to the electrode period of a reflector and by making the center frequency of the reflector coincident with that of the transducer. CONSTITUTION:Surface acoustic wave reflectors 2 and 3 on a piezoelectric substrate 1 have periodical grooves of a depth hgR besides periodical electrodes of a thickness hmR, and a transducer 4 has perodical electrodes of a thickness hmT and periodical grooves of a depth hgT. The electrode period of reflectors 2 and 3, the electrode period of the transducer, the frequency lowering quantity of reflectors based on periodical perturbation determined by a resonance wavelength lambda, and the frequency lowering quantity of the transducer are denoted as LR, LT, C2R, and C2T, respectively. The elastic mismatching between the electrode part and the non-electrode part of the transducer is denoted as C1T, and a constant qT determined by C1T and a number N of pairs of electrodes of the transducer is denoted as qT=piC1TN. Thus, LT/LR is determined by expression 1 for the purpose of making frequencies fR and fT coincident with each other.
