Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the titled hormone in a large quantity, with easy control of the operation, without using a nutrient medium containing expensive blood serum, etc., by transplanting human-originated lymphoidblast cells capable of producing human adrenocorticotropic hormone in a warm-blooded animal other than human.
CONSTITUTION: Human-originated lymphoidblast cells capable of producing human adrenocorticotropic hormone(hACTH) are transplanted in a warm-blooded animal other than human, usually a mammalian such as mouse, nude mouse, etc., pref. a young animal, or the cells are proliferated in a diffusion chamber implanted in an animal and furnished with a porous permeation diaphragm which blocks the transmission of the animal cells. Said diffusion chamber is supplied with the body fluid containing nutritive components of the animal. The proliferated cells are treated with an hACTH-inducing agent to produce hACTH. A large amount of chromatophorotropic hormone and/or human lipotropin are produced simultaneoulsy with the production of hACTH.
