Abstract

PURPOSE: A somatropin-inducing agent is made to act on human-originating cells that are capable of producing human somatropin and propagated using a warm- blood animal other than human, thus producing a larage amount of human somatropin through simple operations by no use of expensive enriched cultures.
CONSTITUTION: Human-originating cells that are capable of producing human somatropin and readily propagate in a body of warm blood animal other than human, e.g., human acidophil cells of anterior lobe of hypophysis, are implanted in a body of warm blood animal other than human for propagation. Or a diffusion chamber provided with porous filtration membrane that can prohibit the pass of animal cells is embedded in an animal body so that the cells are propagated with humor containing nutritions. The resultant cells are stimulated with a somatropin inducer such as lysine or arginine to produce human somatropin.
