Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce noise during the operation of an engine in an electromotive fuel injection pump using a three-brush type motor by making the number of active conductors of an armature variable at the time of idling of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: Three brushes 4a, 4b, and 4c are arranged to an armature 2 of an electromotive fuel pump 1 to drive a fuel pump 5. Brushes 4b and 4c are connected to contacts 6b and 6c of a relay 6. A starting switch 9 is normally connected to the contact 6b via a movable contact 6a of the relay 6. When an idling detector 7 of an engine 10 detects idling, an idling switch 8 is on, and a coil 6d is excited for connecting the movable contact 6a to the contact 6c. Consequently, the number of active conductors of the armature 2 is increased to lower the revolution of a motor.
