Abstract

The contactor for the electric starter of the I.C. engine contains a moving pole (8) connected to an insulated bush (7) and a conducting disc (6). In one position a contact (5) supplies low current through a resistance via the disc (6) to the flexible cable (3) which is connected to the starter windings. The low current is used to engage the pinion. In the second position the disc comes into contact with the main current terminal (11) which feeds full power for tuning the engine. The flexible cable (3) is welded to the conducting disc and the terminals (11, 5) provide position limits for the moving pole.
