Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an inflammable gas detecting element which is increased in a sensitivity and improves a responsing and restoring property, by a method wherein cadmium ferrite, containing Zn, Sn, Ti or W as an additive, is used as the sensor of a gas detecting element. CONSTITUTION:Cadmium ferrite (CdFe2o4), containing 0.5-50mol%, based on the total amount of an additive, of one or more of Zn, Sn, Ti and W through the conversion of them into ZnO, VnO2, TiO2, WO3, respectively, is used with a sensor of an inflammable gas detecting element. The reason why the total amount of said additive is limited to 0.5-50mol% is that, if it is less than 0.5mol%, there is no additive effect, and if it exceeds 50mol%, the sensitivity decreases and a responding and restoring property is also not improved.
