Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce a porosity by inserting a sintered body into a die groove consisting of plural cavities and a lower punch rubbing against said cavities, rotating an upper punch slantingly in an upper face of the die groove, thereby compacting the sintered body through the lower and upper punches.
CONSTITUTION: A sintered body 1 has circular arc-shaped faces 2; in a die 3, cavities 3a having circular arc-shaped faces, corresponding to the cross section of the sintered body, pass through the die 3 at the same interval; and a lower punch 13 moves up and down in contact with the cavities 3a. The sintered bodies 1 are inserted into a die groove 15. Then an upper punch 18 having a right cone-shaped pressing surface 19 of the obtuse vertical-angle at a top part of a cylinder is rotated so as to slant its central axis on the upper face of the die groove 15, and the punch 13 is raised while rolling the surface 19 along the upper face of the die 3. Whereby, the bodies 1 in the groove 15 are pressed on the surface 19 of the punch 18, and compressing force is applied by said surface 19 locally and successively.
