Abstract

CONSTITUTION: When a spline shaft 4 is provided with a cut-off part 5, the width of splines 6a of the spline shaft or boss 6 where the circumferentical ends 5a of the cut-off part are located is made larger than that of the other splines 6b. For that reason, troughs 6c need not to be cut at the ends 5a and two splines 6b adjacent to each imaginary trough 6c are made as one wide spline 6a. According to this constitution, the ends 5a of the cut-off part 5 are located at the splines 6a of larger width to avoid cracks, breackdown or the like and heighten the strength.
