Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the distortion of a nonlinear transmission line, by connecting a discriminating means, which estimates a transmission code from the output of an equalizer which equalizes the waveform distortion of the nonlinear transmission line, to this equalizer. CONSTITUTION:The output of a receiving selecting filter has the waveform distortion equalized by the first equalizer 40. The output of the qualizer 40 is applied to the second qualizer 42, which equalizes the waveform distortion due to the band limiting filter of the transmission side, through a nonlinear compensating circuit 41 having a characteristics opposite to the characteristic of the nonlinear circuit which exists on the transmission line. A discriminator 911 for estimating the transmission code and a distortion detector 912 are connected to the second equalizer 42. The distortion detector 912 gives the output to a controller 900 which makes the tap weight optimum. Thus, since the transmission code is estimated by the discriminator 911, the waveform distortion of the nonlinear transmission line is eliminated automatically.
