Abstract

PURPOSE: A drug member, consisting of an impermeable backing member, an absorbent assistant holding layer, a substrate layer and a drug layer containing a drug as essential constituents, and usable for making the drug continuously absorbed from the skin or a mucous membrane.
CONSTITUTION: A drug member consisting of a backing member 1 e.g. a film having such a designed moisture permeability neither to permeate the moisture substantially nor to cause the side effects, e.g. gas contact or whitening, an absorbent assistant holding layer 2, e.g. an absorbent alone, such as butyl benzoate, or a mixture system with other constituents or a combination with a porous member, provided on one surface of the member 1, a substrate layer 3, capable of permeating the absorbent assistant, and formed on the opposite side of the member 1 of the layer 2, e.g. polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate, and a polymer layer 4 containing a drug, e.g. a corticosteroid, which is tacky at ordinary temperature.
EFFECT: The absorbent assistant and the polymer layer shielded before the use retain the properties unique to the polymeric layer till the use thereof.
