Abstract

PURPOSE: To forge a blank material into a space by the downward movement of a cylindrical punch, forge a ringlike formed article without formation of any burrs, and improve yield by lowering a punch which is fitted freely slidably with the cylindrical punch into the bottom part of a die thereby forming a sealed space.
CONSTITUTION: A blank material FW is charged in a heated state into the large diameter part 15d of a die 15, and an inner punch 9 is lowered together with a ram 4. At this time, the forming part 9d of the punch 9 freely fits without touching the bore of the material FW, thence the upper part 9e of the part 9d fits without deforming the bore part of the material FW. Then, the bottom surface 9c of the inner punch 9 is abutted without any space on the top surface 17a of an ejector 17. Next, the descending of the ram 4 is continued, and while the punch 9 is being held by the oil pressure or the like in the cylinder part 10, an outer punch 13 is moved downward until it fits to the large diameter part of the die 15. A molding space S is formed by being tightly closed with the outside diameter surface 15b of the die, the ejector 17, the inner punch 9 and the inside wall 15c of the die. Following to this, the material FW is forced into the space S by the downward movement of the outer punch 13, whereby the ringlike molded article is obtained.
