Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the bending and breakage of needles at the time of their return and also make their maintenance easier by making an arrangement so that the return positions of needles come between the front surface of a guide and that of a cover plate, at the time of assemblage of a needle block and a magnet block. CONSTITUTION:A magnet block to be composed of an electromagnet 15, an armature 17 and a stopper 20, etc. is connected to a needle block to be composed of a guide holder 1, guides 3, 7, 8, 9 and needles 2, etc. by fixing the holder 1 and a yoke 14 together with screws 21 and a spacer 22 is held between them at the time of their assemblage. The thickness of the spacer 22 is determined so that the top end of the needle 2 is positioned between the front surface of the guide 3 and that of a cover plate 11 at its return position. By this arrangement, the needle 2 easily gets out from a print ribbon in the latter half of its return motion even if it penetrates through the ribbon at the time of printing and the needle 2 is prevented from being bended or broken. The periodical grinding of the needle 2 can be accomplished by removing the spacer 22 and temporarily assembling the component.
