Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent overheating of cooling oil by providing a microcomputer system, which is operated by sensing a temperature of brake cooling oil, on a captioned device so that a proper vehicle speed to meet a temperature of the cooling oil applicable at a time of descending a slope can be provided.
CONSTITUTION: A setpoint Ev by a vehicle speed set up lever and an actual vehicle speed signal Pv are sent to a microcomputer 15 of a retarder controller 10, which controls a brake driving device 30 according to a deflection between a set up vehicle speed and an actual vehicle speed, and controls a vehicle speed fixedly at a time of descending a slope by adjusting a brake force of a rear wheel. At this time, a temperature signal et from a temperature sensor 50 of brake cooling oil BCO as well as a speed shift signal em from an automatic speed change gear are sent to the microcomputer 15 which controls a retarder brake controller and the automatic speed change gear according to a value of a temperature signal et and in three modes of a safety area of an oil temperature, a warning area of the oil temperature, a dangerous area of the oil temperature, and a vehicle speed is constrolled automatically to an optimum one compatible with the above three modes.
