Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress deterioration of insulation in a rotary machine as well as to make it possible to facilitate fabrication of the larger capacity machine by a method wherein a stator winding is isolated from a rotor and enveloped with insulating gas of hydrocarbon fluoride. CONSTITUTION:An insulating tube 3 is installed on a rotor 1 with a small, uniform gap, which is adhered to the inner surface of a stator iron core 2. This tube must be as thin as possible so as not to weaken a magnetic field, and is made of fiber reinforced plastics with a mechanical strength needed for standing a filling pressure of hydrocarbon fluoride gas. Both ends of this tube 3 are hermetically engaged with an outer frame 5 via packings 4, and an isolating chamber 7 is formed accomodating a stator winding 6 outside the tube 3, where insulating gas of hydrocarbon fluoride composed of hydrocarbon derivative alone or mixture is filled out. With this structure, deterioration of insulation due to partial discharge, heat, etc.
