Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent squeak of a brake by arranging the fiber material as component of a brake lining in an inclined attitude with respect to the disc and thereby hindering occurence of the sticking phenomenon with said fiber material etc.
CONSTITUTION: Friction pad 1 is composed of a pad backing 2 and a brake lining 3 formed in a single body with the backing 2. The brake lining 3 is formed by adding thermosetting plastics etc. to a fiber material such as asbestos, steel fiber, etc. and subjecting them to hot pressing. The fiber 4 is arranged inclined in such direction that it approaches the pad backing 2 at the incoming side of the disc D and separates from the backing 2 at the outgoing side of the disc D.
