Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the complete explosion-proofness of the operating device for a motor with effective airtightness by containing the motor within a sealed housing, making the end of a shaft protrude through a shaft cover and externally operating a line-start switch and a star-delta starter via an operation rod. CONSTITUTION:A motor 1, a star-starter 30 and a line-start switch 17 are contained in an airtight housing 9, which is installed on a mounting base 7. A power transmission shaft 4 connected to the shaft 2 of the motor is passed through a shaft cover 12 having an oil seal 15 and is protruded outwards, and the shaft cover 12 is secured through a packing 13 to the housing 9. An operation box 20 sealed for the housing is secured, push rods 28, 29 are telescopically provided via oil seals to operate the line-start switch 17, and an operation lever 39 similarly sealed for the housing 9 is provided to operate the lever 31 of the star-delta starter 30.
