Abstract

PURPOSE:To drive at cruising speeds by monitoring engine r.p.ms and a shift of a control lever of a fuel injection pump and informing a driver of an excessive step on an accelerator pedal from a relation between the control lever and the engine r.p.ms. CONSTITUTION:An output pulse signal of an engine speed detector 1 is subjected to a D/A conversion 2 and outputted as a voltage signal VN. A signal VF is produced from a characteristic convertor 3 in response to the signal VN in conformity to a conversion characteristic which determines a cruising speed range. The signal VF is compared with a signal VL of a shift detector 5 for a control lever of an injection pump by a comparator 4, which generates an output if the VF is higher than the VL. The output is sent via an amplifier 6 to actuate the first and second indicators 7a, 7b. On the other hand, a comparator 10 compares the signal VN with an output of a reference setting circuit 10 which generates a signal VR corresponding to a maximum speed at which the engine can be cruised, and if the VN is higher than the VR, the comparator sends a signal via an exhaust brake estimation circuit 13 to actuate the third indicator 15.
