Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain easily the captioned electrically conductive sponge by a method wherein furnace black as conductivity intensifier, specific organic perioxide as vulcanizing agent and foaming agent are mixed with diorgano polybiloxane and heated.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100 parts by weight of diorgano polysiloxane having mean polymerization degrees 2,000 or more, (B) 5W100 parts by weight of furnace black, (C) 0W50 parts by weight of acetylene black, (D) 0.2W10 parts by weight of organic perioxide selected from 1,1-di(tert-butylperoxy)cylohexane, 1,1-di(tert- butylperoxy)-3,3,5-trimethyl cylohexane and 2,2-di(tert-butylperoxy)butane, (E) 2W30 parts by weight of organic foaming agent (e.g.; azobis isobutylonitril) are mixed. Then, the mixture is heated, expanded and hardened to obtain the captioned sponge.
