Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a rubber having improved heat resistance and free from the problem of color development, discoloration or curing inhibition, by adding an organopolysiloxane to a natural or synthetic rubber vulcanizable with an organic peroxide.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100 parts by weight of an unvulcanized rubber other than silicone and fluorine compounds, vulcanizable with an organic peroxide (e.g. natural rubber, ethylene-propylene terpolymer, etc.), is plasticized by means preferably of a Banbury mixer, etc.. (B) 3-30 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane having the average unit expressed by the formula (R is monofunctional hydrocarbon other than R': R' is 4W20C aliphatic hydroccarbon; a is 1W2.5; b is 0.01W 1.2; a+B=1.8W3), is added to (A), and keneaded. (C) 0.1W15 parts by weight of an roganic peroxide (e.g. benzoyl peroxide, etc.) is added thereto and kneaded.
