Abstract
PURPOSE: To contemplate an improvement in the density of pulverized coal during briquetting and the quality of coke and to improve working atmosphere, by a method wherein pulverized coking coal introduced into a pressure briquetting box is compacted and briquetted in a vibrating-pressurizing device, and then introduced into a coke oven.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure briquetting box 4 which has nearly the same size as that of the inside of a coke oven 6, is provided on a traveling stand. Before pulverized coking coal 1 is introduced, a bottom plate 4 is ascended by means of an elevating cylinder 5 to in a depth H where the pulverized coal 1 can be introduced. Then the coal 1 in a charging hopper 2 is introduced as shown by a mark 13. This charging is made volumetrically and uniformly as in rotary feeder charging. Then the coal is pressurized by a vibrator 3 to briquette it. The briquetted compacted coal 14 in the pressure briquetting box 4 is pushed into the coke oven 6. Firstly right and left side plates 4b are opened by a cylinder 8 for opening and closing, and frictional resistance in this part is lowered. Front and back side plates 4c are taken off. Then by operating a pushing-in machine 7, the compacted coal 14 is pushed from the pressure briquetting box 4 into the coke oven 6.
