Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform centering easily and accurately by using engaging means for centering provided between a mold and guide rolls 3 in the case of performing centering between a vibration type mold for continuous casting and the guide rolls.
CONSTITUTION: A continuous casting mold 1 is mounted to a table 4 for vibration which is connected at one end to a stationary fulcrum 5 and of which the other end moves vertically. A receiving seat 13 provided with an engaging hole 13a is mounted in the lower part of the mold 1, and a bracket 3a provided with a projection 14 for centering engaging to the hole 13a is mounted to guide rolls 3 below this. The length of the adjusting rod 6 of a mold vibrator is shortened, and when the connecting point of an eccentric plate 7 driven by an electric motor 10 and the rod 6 arrives at the upper dead point, the projection 14 fits into the hole 13a of the seat 13, by which the mold 1 and the guide rolls 3 are disposed along a prescribed reference line, and this completes the centering of the mold.
