Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an overexposure, by constituting a titled device so that light emission is started by delaying by a prescribed time from a light emission start time of a main electronic flash device, and also its dimming operation is started simultaneously when light emission of the main electronic flash device is started. CONSTITUTION:When a shutter of a camera is pushed, and a main electronic flash device emits light, this light is photodetected by a photothyristor 27 functioning as a synchronizing light emission photodetecting element, by which voltage is generated across a resistance 30. This voltage is an output of a photodetecting means, and on the one hand, this voltage is supplied to a dimming circuit 26 as a dimming operation start signal, and starts an integrating operation of the integration circuit in the dimming circuit 26. On the other hand, voltage generated across the resistance 30 is supplied to a delaying circuit 34, too, consisting of a resistance 32 and a capacitor 33 through a reverse-current preventive diode 31, by which the delaying circuit 34 generates voltage across a resistance 35 in a prescribed time after the photothyristor 27 has been started, and starts a thyristor 15. That is to say, a flash discharge tube 13 starts to emit light after a delay time of the delaying circuit 34 after light emission of the main electronic flash device 2 has been started.
