Abstract

PURPOSE:A cosmetic having activating action on the skin, having no surface roughness which occurs when a cosmetic base is blended with muscovado directly as its is, comprising a pure sugar dyestuff extracted from raw sugar and the cosmetic base. CONSTITUTION:Raw suger (muscovado) is extracted to separate a sugar dyestuff, which is blended with a cosmetic base to give a cosmetic. The sugar dyestuff has an activating action on the skin, provides a cosmetic good for health and beauty of the skin and the hair, free from inconvenience, e.g., surface roughness, etc., caused by the separating of sugar components when the cosmetic base is directly blended with muscovado. The extraction of the sugar dyestuff is carried out by treating an aqueous solution of raw sugar with a porous crosslinked polystyrene type resin adsorbent (e.g., Serubakuromu XAD-type 2) having a huge network structure, washing the adsorbent with water to remove sugar components, and separating the sugar dyestuff from the adsorbent with a water-containing alcohol, etc. The amount of the sugar dyestuff is 0.1-2.0wt% in the case of soap.
