Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a heat-sensitive recording material which provides excellent image density without suffering from adhesion of scum to a thermal element, sticking phenomenon and piezochromic phenomenon, by incorporating zinc stearate and a specific aromatic amide compound in a heat-sensitive coloring layer. CONSTITUTION:Zinc strearate and a compound represented by the formula, where R<1> represents 1-30C alkyl group, preferably 14-22C are incorporated preferably in amounts of, respectively, 0.1-10 times and 0.1-5 times the total weight of a dye, acidic substance, etc. in a heat-sensitive coloring layer containing a colorless or pale leuco dye (e.g.: crystal violet lactone) and an acidic or phenolic substance for coloring upon reaction with the dye by heating (e.g: bisphenol A). The objective recording material is obtained by coating the resulting product together with a binder such as PVA, a fine powder such as talc or the like dispersed in water on a substrate suc as paper.
