Abstract
PURPOSE: To hold the quality of treated water stably and minimize electric energy for aeration by providing dissolved oxygen concn. distribution patterns in the vertical flow direction of the vessel inside, a metering means for required air feed rate, and an evaluating means selecting the optimum distribution pattern.
CONSTITUTION: An aerating vessel 2 into which inflow sewage 1 is injected, and a final settling basin 4 into which treated water 3 is flowed are provided, and the activated sludge 5 contg. aerobic microorganisms obtained in the basin 4 is returned by a return sludge pump 6 into said vessel 2. In such a sewage treatment system by an activaged sludge method, when the vessel 2 is divided equally to n-parts, the dissolved oxygen amt. (DO) in the i-th sub-aerating vessel 15 is expressed by the equationIwherein the capacity of the aerating vessel is defined as V, and therefore the distribution state of the DO is so evaluated as to maintain the quality of the treated water stably and to minimize the electric energy for aeration and is so set and controlled as to have the optimum DO distribution
