Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize purifying power and perform purification of good efficiency by placing perforated plates before and behind filter media like non-woven fabrics, partitioning the media in such a way as to intersect orthogonally with the passage direction of sewage and providing air diffusion pipes supplying oxygen into space layers.
CONSTITUTION: An inflow pipe 2 for sewage is provided to one end of a horizontally long treating vessel 1 and an outflow pipe 3 to the other end, respectively. The sewage flowing into the vessel through the pipe 2 is treated in its inside and is discharged through the pipe 3. Filter medium layers 11 in a longitudinal direction are juxtaposed in plurality at suitable intervals in the filter chamber 5 in the vessel 1 in such a way as to intersect roughly orthogonally with the passage direction of the sewage, and space layers 12 are formed in the parts sandwiched at the front and rear by the layers 11. An air diffusion pipe 13 is provided above the vessel 1, and branch pipes 14 connecting to the pipe 13 are faced to the respective layers 12. The sewage supplied through the pipe 2 into an inflow chamber 4 passes through the layers 11 and the layers 12 successively alternately, and is conducted from a settling chamber 6 into a releasing chamber 7.
