Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst effective for removal of suspended carbon by depositing platinum and copper oxide on a base body or carrier as a catalyst for oxidation and combustion of carbon.
CONSTITUTION: As a catalyst for reburning suspended carbon which is the imperfect product accompanied with the combustion of pertroleum and coal type fuels at low temps. and converting the same to carbon oxide, platinum and copper oxide are deposited on a carrier of γ-alumina or the like or a base body of a silica cloth or the like. Such catalyst removes the suspended carbon effectively and therefore the occurrence of air and environmental pollutions is prevented.
