Abstract

PURPOSE:To achive a good color saturation with a simple circuit, by increasing the electron beam spot diameter at the production of an intermediate color and decreasing that at the production of a primary color and performing chroma scanning with the same frequency at any case. CONSTITUTION:The three primary color signals and chroma subcarrier wave are multiplied by three at the 1st and 2nd multiplication circuits 15 and 17 respectively and supplied to a discrimination circuit 18. When the frequency difference is taken, the output voltage is different for the primary color and the intermediate color as shown in Fig. (b), and it is applied to a collecting electrode 20 of a picture tube 1 through an amplifier 19. As a result, control is made that the electron beam spot diameter is small at the generation of the primary color to avoid other fluorescent substance from being shocked and large at the generation of the intermediate color to sufficiently excite the fluorescent substance at both sides clipping the guard band. Thus, since the chroma scanning is made for both cases with the same triplet frequency, an auxiliary deflection yoke is driven with reasonable method and the color saturation at the generation of the intermediate color is sufficiently achieved.
