CONSTITUTION:A scanning speed data is read out from a PROM 30 in response to a start instruction and it is given to a motor drive control circuit from speed set circuits 331-336. A counter 29 starts counting in response to the output of deceleration sensors S1-S6, and the deceleration data is sequentially read out from the PROM 30 according to the content. When the count of the counter 29 reaches a prescribed number, the return speed data is read out from the output of the PROM 30 and the motor is reversed. If the deceleration of the scanner is not sufficiently done due to some causes, a reversing FF is compulsively set independently of the content of the counter 29.
