Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A speed detecting device is composed of a pulse generator 1, a position-detecting encoder 2, an output counter 4, a memory circuit 5 and a gate controller 6, etc. In case if a rotary body to be detected by the encoder 2 is rotating at a constant speed, content of the output counter 4 immediate before being preset is to become similar to the content counted as a result of input of a new encoder pulse signal E. The content of the output counter 4 is supplemented by average output sought from past rotation even during the time when the encoder pulse signal E is not generated. The output counter 4 puts out a rotating speed constituent through the memory circuit 5 to which a memory is put in so as to put out a speed constituent to an input. It is possible, by using such a mechanism, to obtain an effect equal to an increase in number of encoder slits.
