Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a stable small volume gas combustion without causing any back fire by a method wherein a pressure reduction of mixture gas in a main combustion chamber is eliminated by an air curtain for use in shutting off the gas injected toward the gas passage.

CONSTITUTION: When main and sub-chambers 4a and 4b are communicated to each other through a gas passage 23 under a descending of the opening/closing plate 26, a large volume of gasification and combustion is performed and in turn when the flame injection hole 3 is closed by lifting the opening/closing plate 26, a small volume of gasification combustion is performed. When a small volume of gasification combustion is to be performed, the combustion air is injected from an injection clearance 25 arranged between the partition wall 22 and the opening/closing plate 26 toward the gas passage 23 so as to generate an air curtain for use in shutting off the gas. Under the shielding function of the air curtain, the mixture gas which is ready for flowing out from the main chamber 4a to the sub-chamber 4b is positively prevented from being flowed out and thereby a pressure reduction of the mixture gas in the main chamber 4a may be eliminated, thereby preventing a back fire combustion.
