Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform a reliable performance test in a short time, by a method wherein one end of a heat pipe is heated, and a decision is made by a heating time and a pipe end arrival temperature property. CONSTITUTION:A tester 6 is controlled so that a heating part of a heating set 1 for heating a heat pipe 1 attains a given temperature. The tester 6 consists of a current control circuit 8 for a heater 3, a timer 9 for limiting a period of time elapsing from a measurement circuit 10 for said time, a circuit 11 for measuring a heat pipe end temperature, and a circuit 12 which performs a decision by comparing information on both time measurement and temperature measurement with a performance decision reference. The performance tester is operated such that the current control circuit 8 is continuously operated so that the heating part is maintained in a constant temperture to measure a temperature at a heat pipe end by a temperature sensor 2 and a temperature measurement circuit 11 and to measure a heating time by a time circuit 15. The data are inputted to the decision circuit 12 to decide whethr or not it reaches Tp deg.Ct1sec after a decision reference. If it reaches Tp, it is passed, and if not, it is unpassed. Said indications are sent to a 13 and 14, respectively.
