Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the storage capacity, by minimizing the obtainment of the log quantity of an after-image log data and a before-image log data by use of an optimum differential bit row generator. CONSTITUTION:Block data before updating and after updating, which have been inputted to data input terminals 27, 28, respectively are inputted to a differential detector 29, corresponding to each other. In the detector 29, corresponding data of both the data are collated at every byte, and a differential bit row is outputted to an optimum differential bit row generator 30. The generator 30 generates an optimum differential bit row. In a BI (before image) log data obtaining device 31 and an AI (after image) log data obtaining device 32, the block data inputted to the input terminals 27, 28, and the optimum differential bit row generated by the generator 30 are all synchronized by a tag signal, and a BI log data and an AI log data are fetched simultaneously from the obtaining device 31 and the obtaining device 32, respectively. Since these log quantities are obtained from the optimum differential bit row in this way, the log quantity is minimized.
